Through a series of treatments, typically about three sessions over a few months, it restores the support and volume of youthful looking skin, providing results that can last up to two years.
Sculptra consist of Poly- L-Lactic Acid, which is a synthetic polymer that has been used in the human body since 1960 and as medical suture material from 1970.
Sculptra® is slightly different than dermal filler products. Unlike hyaluronic acid fillers such as Restylane® and Juvederm®, it is formulated with poly-l-lactic acid to work within your skin to stimulate collagen growth and restore lost facial volume over time. The results from a Sculptra® procedure may last up to two years.
Sculptra® usually requires at least 3 treatments each administered about 4 weeks apart. It comes in vials, and the number of vials needed varies by each individual patient. At the VIDA Aesthetics, we require a consultation prior to treatment. During that visit, we will complete a facial evaluation and determine the appropriate treatment plan.
Noticeable changes from a Sculptra® Aesthetic procedure are very gradual. Most patients report that they look the same a few days after treatment (which is normal and temporary). Because changes take place over time, you’ll see subtle, yet noticeable, results in the reduction of facial wrinkles and folds by comparing images before treatment and a couple months following your final treatment. The beauty of Sculptra® is that results are natural and can last for more than two years.*
Sculptra Aesthetic is FDA approved in the United States and has been used worldwide since 1999. Sculptra® Aesthetic is comprised of a synthetic material called poly-L-lactic acid that is absorbed naturally by the body and has been used for years in dissolvable stitches. Since Sculptra® Aesthetic does not contain any human or animal components, no allergy testing is required prior to treatments.
Side effects could include injection site pain, redness, bruising, tenderness, minor bleeding, or swelling. The types and duration of side effects may vary by individual patient. During your consultation, we will discuss all the possible side effects of a Sculptra® Aesthetic treatment
