How does BBL Laser Hair Removal Work?
BBL is short for Broad Band Light. It is a treatment that removes hair through a process called photo-epilation. This is based on the principle of selective photothermolysis, where light energy is absorbed into the target hair follicles while sparing the surrounding, healthy skin tissue. While it is still a light source, BBL works differently than conventional laser systems. Instead, BBL systems use a broad light spectrum of light with wavelengths ranging from 590 to 1200 nm (green, yellow, orange, red and infrared). The wavelengths emit light energy in carefully timed pulses to maximise the effectiveness of the treatment. At the same time decreases the risk of skin damage and minimise pain.
What does BBL Laser Hair Removal feel like?
Forever BARE BBL™ is one of the most comfortable laser hair removal treatments on the market. During the procedure, the Forever Bare handpiece produces a warming, “prickly” sensation that most patients report as being quite comfortable, even without the use of a numbing agent. The warmth subsides within about an hour after treatment.
Before undergoing BBL treatment, patients should avoid sun exposure, sunless tanning, waxing, and chemical peels. Once the treatment is complete, patients should expect to see noticeable changes in their skin. Blemishes will typically clear up within a few weeks. How often Do I need to get a BBL Bare Treatment
Typically a series of 4-6 treatments will produce a considerable amount of hair reduction in the treated area. However, the frequency of your treatment will depend on the speed at which your hair grows, in addition to the color and thickness of the hair. Your practitioner will be able to provide you with a comprehensive, custom hair removal plan during an initial consultation.
